     In magnetic applications, performance stability is often just as important as magnetic strength. Engineers and purchasing personnel may notice that some magnets that initially perform well gradually lose their magnetism under improperly controlled operating conditions. This phenomenon is called demagnetization, and durable neodymium magnets are affected when certain thermal, magnetic, or mechanical limits are exceeded. Understanding these factors is crucial to preventing unexpected performance losses in practical applications.

 

 

Main Causes of Demagnetization

  • Temperature exposure is one of the most significant factors affecting magnetic stability. Each neodymium magnet has a specified maximum operating temperature. When this limit is exceeded, the internal magnetic domains begin to lose alignment, leading to a decrease in magnetic strength. Repeated or prolonged exposure to high temperatures accelerates permanent performance loss.
